How Kite The World started?

The Origin of Kite The World: From a Bulgarian Dream to a Global Reality

If you had told me ten years ago, as I was standing on the shores of my hometown in Pomorie, Bulgaria, that my "office" would eventually be the crystal-clear lagoons of Venezuela or the trade winds of Zanzibar, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

Back in 2015, I had just finished university. I was at that classic crossroads: do I start the "real life" 9-to-5 grind, or do I take a breath?

I decided on the breath. I decided to learn how to kitesurf.

Deep down, I knew the cubicle life wasn't for me. I started dreaming of becoming a version of myself I didn’t even know existed yet—a version that lived in the moment, chased the wind, and explored the most remote corners of the map.

The First Leap: Gokceada

Just one year later, that dream started taking shape. I found myself living on the island of Gokceada, Turkey, running a kite school with my partner. It was hard work, but it gave us the ultimate gift: The Off-Season. When the school closed for the winter, the world opened up. We didn’t just travel; we scouted. We looked for the places that most people only see on postcards.

The Birth of "Kite The World" in Los Roques

There is one place, however, where the soul of this brand was truly born: Los Roques, Venezuela.

It is, hands down, one of the most beautiful and remote kitesurfing spots on the planet. Standing there, surrounded by nothing but turquoise water and white sand, we realized that something this special shouldn't be kept a secret. We thought, "What if we invited a few friends to join us here? What if we curated the ultimate experience so they could just enjoy the wind and the water without the stress of the logistics?"

That first trip changed everything.

Expanding the Horizon

What started as a small group of friends in Venezuela grew naturally. Every year we went back, more people wanted in. They didn’t just want a kite trip; they wanted the Kite The World lifestyle—the community, the adventure, and the expert knowledge of a pro rider.

So, we extended our little map. New horizons opened, and we began organizing groups in:

  • Punta Cana

  • Brazil

  • Madagascar

  • Zanzibar (where I ended up living for four years!)

  • Egypt

Ten Years Later: No Regrets

It’s been a decade since I decided to skip the traditional career path. Today, I am a professional rider for Flysurfer, a digital business owner, and a world traveler. I didn't know this was going to be my life, but looking back at every sunset session and every remote lagoon we've discovered, I don't regret a single second of it.

The Kite The World Difference: More Than Just a Trip

What makes Kite The World truly special isn’t just the locations; it’s the people. We believe that an unforgettable adventure starts with the right tribe. That’s why we don’t just take anyone—we hand-select every participant for our groups. We want to ensure that every person on the boat or at the villa shares the same stoke, the same respect for the ocean, and the same desire to connect.

Our mission is to give you the absolute best experience of your life, and that starts with the "where" and the "how."

  • No Crowds, Just Wind: We intentionally choose destinations that aren’t overcrowded. You won't find yourself dodging hundreds of kites; instead, you’ll have the space to progress, explore, and truly feel the freedom of the spot.

  • Deep Research: We don’t just "go" to these places. We live them. We have spent years researching every single location on our map—from the wind patterns and local thermal effects to the best hidden sandbars—to ensure your trip is seamless.

  • Community First: Kite The World is a catalyst. It brings amazing people together to experience exactly what we love. It’s about the shared high of a sunset session and the conversations that happen afterward.

Kite The World isn’t just a travel company; it’s an invitation to find that version of yourself that wants to live in the moment. It’s the life I dreamed of ten years ago in Bulgaria, and now, I want to share it with you.

Let’s Kite The World together.
